Nobody warns you about Tuesday.

Not Monday.

Not Friday.

Tuesday.

The ordinary day where life quietly happens.

A Lego on the floor. Coffee grounds around a sink. A forgotten wrench. A missed putt.

Frustration & Fascination is a collection of true stories about golf, family, childhood, work, and the quiet anxieties nobody warns you about.

Every story begins the same way. Something goes wrong. Then one ordinary word quietly becomes another.

This isn't a book about pretending life is easy. It's about what can happen when frustration gives way to fascination.

If you've ever been frustrated by someone else — or by yourself — try one different word. See what happens next.

Tomorrow will probably be another Tuesday. Maybe that's exactly where life has been waiting all along.

About the Author

Josh Loy is a writer based in Southern Oregon. His writing explores curiosity, work, family, golf, memory, and the ordinary moments that quietly shape our lives in unexpected ways.

His first nonfiction book, Frustration & Fascination, grew from a simple question: what happens when curiosity quietly interrupts certainty? Through personal stories and observations, he explores the small moments that influence how people think, react, and understand themselves and others.

When he isn't working or writing, you'll often find him standing in a river with a fly rod in his hands, chasing elusive steelhead across the Pacific Northwest. The quiet rhythm of moving water has a way of slowing life down, and many of the questions that eventually become stories first begin there.

He believes some of life's best observations don't arrive while looking for answers — they arrive while paying attention.
